Danièle Désourdy, née en 1969, est une artiste canadienne originaire des Cantons-de-l’Est, au Québec. Dès son enfance, elle développe un attachement profond à la nature et aux animaux, s’initiant au dessin par l’observation. L’art a toujours occupé une place centrale dans sa vie : sa mère était une artiste reconnue au Québec et à l’international.
Elle obtient son diplôme d’études secondaires à l’école FACE (Fine Arts Core Education) de Montréal, une école à vocation artistique, puis un diplôme collégial en arts visuels au Cégep du Vieux-Montréal. Elle participe ensuite à de nombreux projets artistiques.
Son parcours, combiné à sa passion pour la faune et la flore, la conduit naturellement vers l’art animalier. Pour elle, peindre est une manière de renouer avec la nature, saisissant oiseaux et mammifères dans leurs moindres détails et singularités, donnant vie à un univers qu’elle invite chacun à contempler. Chaque œuvre naît d’une image qui la touche profondément : elle réalise d’abord ses propres photographies lors de ses activités en plein air, captant des instants de grande beauté, parfois insolites ou empreints de tendresse, et collabore à l’occasion avec des photographes passionnés.
Sa carrière est ponctuée par de nombreux prix et distinctions, dont une prestigieuse exposition au Carrousel du Louvre à Paris, ainsi que deux médailles d’or au Prix International des Professionnels de l’Art (PIPA), décernées par Mondial Art Academia (MAA). Elle a présenté ses œuvres à l’acrylique au Canada et à l’international, et elles figurent désormais dans des collections privées et publiques, tant au Canada qu’à l’étranger.
Depuis 2017, elle se consacre pleinement à sa carrière d’artiste professionnelle, travaillant dans son atelier situé en banlieue de Montréal.
Danièle Désourdy, born in 1969, is a Canadian artist from the Eastern Townships of Québec. From an early age, she developed a deep connection to nature and animals, beginning her drawing practice through careful observation. Art has always been central to her life: her mother was a recognized artist in Québec and internationally.
She completed her secondary education at FACE (Fine Arts Core Education) in Montreal, a school with an artistic focus, followed by a college diploma in visual arts at Cégep du Vieux-Montréal. She then participated in numerous artistic projects.
Her journey, combined with her passion for wildlife and flora, naturally led her to animal art. For her, painting is a way to reconnect with nature, capturing birds and mammals in their finest details and unique characteristics, bringing to life a world she invites everyone to contemplate. Each artwork originates from an image that moves her deeply: she first takes her own photographs during outdoor activities, capturing moments of great beauty, sometimes unusual or tender, and occasionally collaborates with passionate photographers.
Her career is marked by numerous awards and distinctions, including a prestigious exhibition at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, as well as two gold medals from the International Art Professionals Prize (PIPA), awarded by Mondial Art Academia (MAA). She has presented her acrylic works in Canada and internationally, and they are now part of private and public collections both in Canada and abroad.
Since 2017, she has been fully dedicated to her professional artistic career, working from her studio in the suburbs of Montreal.
