Issu d’une famille où l’art occupe une place centrale, Normand est initié très tôt au dessin et à la création artistique.
Dès l’âge de 17 ans, il amorce sa carrière comme lettreur d’enseignes et de camions, tout en suivant une formation en graphisme.
Normand œuvre pendant près de trente ans comme graphiste et illustrateur avant de se consacrer pleinement à la peinture.
Artiste autodidacte, il privilégie la peinture à l’huile. Son univers s’inspire autant du monde animalier que de celui des personnages, le dessin demeurant le fondement de chacune de ses œuvres.
Fort de son expérience en graphisme et en illustration, Normand crée des œuvres figuratives puissantes et contemporaines, marquées par un souci constant de l’esthétisme.
Coming from a family where art holds a central place, he was introduced to drawing and artistic creation at a very early age.
At the age of 17, he began his career as a sign and truck letterer, while also pursuing training in graphic design.
He worked for nearly thirty years as a graphic designer and illustrator before fully dedicating himself to painting.
A self-taught artist, he favors oil painting. His universe draws inspiration from both the animal world and human figures, with drawing remaining the foundation of each of his works.
