Tant socialement que politiquement, nous changeons. En entrant dans mon studio, je ressens une émotion qui me porte dans une réflexion profonde. Il y a tellement de choses auxquelles réfléchir et tant d'autres à contempler.
Cela me ramène à l’essentiel : rendre le tableau exactement conforme au modèle, ou explorer mes sentiments envers lui? Là est la question. »
After completing her Fine Arts studies in southern Russia, Fatima Karaf has continuously explored and refined her painting techniques.
“The themes of my work largely revolve around what I observe in life and find captivating, ranging from formal portraits to living beings and landscapes of all kinds. My core source of interest is often a moment of transcendent atmosphere. I believe I am drawn to what best conveys our environment and human nature through the simple subjects that surround us.”
She paints in a realist style inspired by 20th-century Naturalist painters, depicting scenes of everyday life. She strives to capture the mood and emotional expression of her subjects, often within classical, contemplative settings, lending her paintings a distinctive depth and presence.
