Mon enfance dans le nord québécois a influencé ma perception de l'environnement naturel. La rudesse du climat ne peut qu'inspirer respect et attention. Depuis, où que je sois, je demeure curieuse et attentive à ce qui m'entour. Ma représentation de la nature reflète mon bien être de m'y retrouver. Trente années comme architecte a probablement formaté ma façon de regarder mais l'émotion que me procure la nature en transfigure mes souvenirs et inspire ma création.
Mon travail est grandement inspiré d’anciens souvenirs d’enfance remplis d’aventure et de liberté où la foret était mon royaume. Malgré tout ce temps passé, ces souvenirs me replonge invariablement dans l’enthousiasme et l’émerveillement de ma jeunesse...
My childhood in northern Québec, where the harshness of the conditions required attention and respect, influenced my perception of nature. Today, my awareness is tuned into the ways forms and colours are created by changing natural conditions. Thirty years as an architect shaped my way of looking, but painting has provided me a new way to see.
I find my work comes mostly from older memories, I am regularly drawn back to vivid memories of my free and adventurous childhood where wildlife and northern forest were part of my kingdom. Even after all these years, those recollections make me reconnect to my youth's enthusiasm and wonder…
